I disagree.  

We deserve to conquer the universe because we are capable of understanding it.  The very act of considering the concept of mastering the world around us makes us worthy of doing so.  

Sure, there are plenty of people who singularly don’t deserve to, but they are generally not capable of doing so.  No one person is, it is our race that is incredible in its intellectual capabilities.  

The whole “nature always wins” saying will not always be true, if we manage to not kill ourselves off, we will eventually be able to harness the power of the cosmos themselves and bend it to our will.  Heat death of the universe got you down?  Fuck that, we have billions of years to come up with a way to get ourselves to a different, younger universe.  Of course, if we think we are undeserving of having such a mastery of, well, everything, then we will simply die, cold and alone.
